Description NEA Policy Forum – "Teacher Candidates and Compensation: Shifting Perspectives." Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. (EDT). The NEA Teacher Quality Department is hosting its third in a series of virtual roundtables on Shifting, Rethinking and Creating the Schools We Need. With a growing teacher shortage, some preparation programs and school districts are rethinking the role of teacher candidates. Are there opportunities for teacher candidates to be compensated while assisting schools and districts with supporting student learning and meeting their academic benchmarks? This discussion will illuminate the shifting programmatic and policy perspectives on compensating teacher candidates during their field experiences. Registration link.
