AEA-PAC ENDORSES BETHANY SUTTON FOR SCHOOL BOARD
The Arlington Education Association Political Action Committee (AEA-PAC) is proud to announce its endorsement of Bethany Sutton for Arlington School Board in the upcoming November 8th, 2022 election.
AEA-PAC shares her commitment to empowering educators in the workplace and belief that it is critical that APS have a positive environment, a productive and strong relationship with the AEA, and a willingness to listen and act on behalf of all employees.
"As a PTA president and community leader, I've long talked about the need to support our teachers and staff with competitive salaries, and it's an issue I've spoken about publicly since starting my campaign. It's part of why I support educators having the right to collective bargaining. As a board member, I will continue to support fair and competitive compensation, including salaries and benefits, for all staff."
Over the past ten years, Bethany Sutton has been an active and engaged community leader. She has served as a PTA Board member and PTA President. She is Chair of the APS Advisory Council on Teaching and Learning and also serves on the Arlington County Food Security Task Force. Ms. Sutton received the APS Honored Citizen Award in 2021 and the Distinguished County Service Award in 2020 from Volunteer Arlington & the Leadership Center for Excellence.
AEA-PAC extends its gratitude to Ms. Bethany Sutton and looks forward to continuing to work with her in the service of the people of Arlington over the next four years.
AEA-PAC ENDORSES MATT DE FERRANTI FOR COUNTY BOARD
The Arlington Education Association Political Action Committee (AEA-PAC) is proud to announce its endorsement of Matt de Ferranti for Arlington County Board in the upcoming November 8th, 2022 election.
In his first term on the board, Matt continually demonstrated his deep commitment to social equity and his understanding of the issues facing both employees and residents of medium and lower income in their struggles to live and work in Arlington County.
His leadership role in working with fellow board members and County employees in 2021 to pass the amendment to the civil code recognizing the right of County employees to collectively bargain was a model of solidarity with labor which we hope will be followed by members of the Arlington School Board.
AEA-PAC extends its gratitude to Mr. de Ferranti and looks forward to continuing to work with him in the service of the people of Arlington over the next four years.
